Setting Up Your Website E-mail

You can set up your own small business website in a variety of ways. The simplest way is to select a hosting service (the folks rooms full of computers). Popular ones include HostGator.com and Homestead.com. Then you either use their software (such as SiteBuilder) or your own (like Joomla!) to build the site. You can construct it on your computer and send it to theirs to "host" or you can actually build the site on their site using your computer.

A third option, popular with new businesses, is to hire a web designer who will help you design and set up your business website. The cost can be a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on how complicated it will be and whether customers will need to buy through a "shopping cart" program and pay you through a "merchant account" that handles your credit card orders.

Setting up a business website is beyond the purpose of CottageIncome.com. Start your research, look at your budget, and ask web designer services in your area for advice. I am a writer, by trade, rather than a web designer and I somehow figured out how to build this site -- and six others. So can you!
